Mental Health

In this world full of people with six-pack abs and the "perfect body", we've kinda forgotten what true fitness actually means. Physical health does matter, no doubt, but we often forget mental health. Our brain is a part of our bodies but oh a brain is only useful when it comes to academics or something intellectual, isn't it? Mental health includes emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood until the very moment you die.

We go to the gym so that we keep our bodies in shape but what do we do to keep our minds stable? Yoga? I think not. Yoga or meditation helps you relax and loosen up from your stressful thoughts but only temporarily. In our daily lives, we interact with so many people and you might be having the time of your life but someone you met just today could be going through pain and stress, possibly depression as well. What happens in one's daily life is directly connected to his or her mental health.

If you comment on someone's body and they dont like it, they'll think about it for the rest of the day or week or month or year. ONE! One single comment is enough to ruins someone's mental peace. Social isolation or loneliness is one of the major reasons for this as well. Someone who sits alone in a classroom or eats alone at a restaurant or goes to the movies alone or has no one to talk to... The mental health of this person can be easily affected. It can cause long-lasting and severe feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest in activities. This person can be tainted for life. If this feeling continues for a long time it can cause depression.

Now the real question here is how to cope with mental stress or issue or in short how to maintain mental peace? It's not as easy as it sounds but it's not impossible. I believe that if you let things affect you, they will harm you. I'm not asking you to be feeling less or just stop feeling stuff. I'm just asking you to be stronger to the way you deal with stress. One oath that I feel every single person should take is to cut off any friendship or relationship which causes them stress. It's better to lose that relationship rather than losing your mental stability.

All you need to do is take a small initiative and ask people around you if they're fine. Nowadays people say they're fine but they're actually not. It's not easy to trust people today but I'm sure you have your best friend or a trusted adult you can talk to. But, If you have no one talk to, you can always feel free to text me or call me and Its a promise that I'll be there for you. Be a friend to someone and I'm sure you'll get a friend for life too.
