Appreciation

The Art Of Appreciation

Appreciation. What really do you understand by this word? It means recognition or acknowledgement of someone's qualities or acknowledgement about something that they've done for you. In this modern and modest society, we are all flooded with emotions of anger, sadness, happiness, greed and what not but appreciation seems to be a bit lost these days.

There are so many people who do stuff for us but go unnoticed by us but let me tell you this, they really do deserve some respect and recognition so that they can feel good about themselves. These people are our maids, servants, drivers, gardeners, waiters in restaurants, sweepers on the road. I know so many people who make fun of all the people listed above just because they come from lower caste or are not so good looking. But there are no parameters or criteria which needs to be met to receive or get appreciation. Appreciation is the key to the success of a relationship.

Appreciating someone makes them feel good about what they do, and that it makes a difference to their lives. It encourages them to do better each and every day. It gives them motivation and a reason to wake up every single day and live it to the fullest.

Our friends and family also deserve appreciation for what they do for us. They're there for us whenever we need them. If often happens that someone does something good for you but you dont recognise those efforts and it can also happen that you do something for someone for which you don't get appreciated. Our parents make innumerable sacrifices but we dont thank them enough.

Sometimes not appreciating can cause you to drift with a person or from a friendship or a relationship. Those valuable memories are lost in no time just because there wasn't enough recognition of efforts. A person who is appreciated will always do more than what you expected.

My point here is that just because of lack of appreciation dont lose your friendship or relationship with anyone. It is very important to let people know that they mean something to you.
