Indian mentality
We live in a country where we talk about driving like Germans, dressing like Italians, kissing like the French and drinking like Russians. But do we ever talk about being an Indian? We are so involved with what’s going on at an international level that we forget to look at the national level. In a movie theatre, you'll be shown all the beautiful places to visit in India but do they ever show you the negativity? They don't because then we Indians start cribbing about the bad things going on in our country without realizing that we’re one of the causes for those bad things to happen. We have reached this point when there are discussions about playing the national anthem in the theatre which in my opinion is a necessity because you will not see someone standing up for the national anthem unless its 15 August or 26 January. People always talk about going to other countries for higher education but does anyone even look at the kind of universities we have here in India itself?

India is a country where a girl is denied education but they can still gloat about having an excellent education at a global level. India is a country where smoking and drinking makes a woman a whore and a man a dude.
In India, we all look when a girl is smoking but we turn our eyes away when a girl is being harassed. We all live in a country where some parents spend more money on a girls wedding rather than her education. The level of blindly trusting anything is beyond our imagination. In India, a black cat can stop people from moving ahead but a red traffic light cannot. Why is India not a clean country?  It’s because people don't drive on the left-hand side of the road but because they drive on what’s left on the road (garbage and rubbish). Indians wear helmets just to stay away from police tickets and not to save their own lives. Judging people based on their religion and caste is what we do now. Before partition, people of all religions lived together as one but after 15 August 1947, did we really get independence? Doesn't seem like it because we're still in this huge mess of judging people. India will truly be free when a girl can walk alone at night without worrying about her wellbeing.
